During a routine patrol near Rawalpindi, the Motorway Police intercepted two suspicious vans and recovered 2,000 kilograms of unhygienic meat in a swift operation.
According to the Motorway Police spokesperson, the vehicles were stopped for inspection after officers noticed irregularities in their movement. Upon checking, a large quantity of meat was discovered, which was later confirmed by the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) to be unfit for human consumption and potentially dangerous to public health.
The suspects were immediately handed over to PFA officials in Rawalpindi for further legal action. Authorities confirmed that the seized meat was safely disposed of, and an investigation is underway.
Thanks to the timely intervention of the Motorway Police, a significant amount of contaminated meat was prevented from reaching the market, potentially averting a serious public health risk.
