PM Office to Get Rs. 343 Million Makeover After Budget

The federal government has proposed spending over Rs. 343 million to renovate and upgrade the Prime Minister’s Office and other high-level government residences in the upcoming budget, despite ongoing economic challenges and calls for fiscal restraint.

Budget documents reveal that Rs. 65 million has been proposed for the renovation of the Prime Minister’s Office in the next fiscal year. The ongoing project is expected to reach a cost of Rs 180 million by June 2025. The total approved cost for the project stands at Rs. 343.1 million, signaling continued and extensive refurbishments at the PM’s administrative headquarters.

The Prime Minister’s Staff Colony is also slated for improvements, with Rs. 55 million proposed to upgrade residential facilities for support staff. Additionally, Rs. 110 million has been earmarked for the renovation of a government-owned building in Islamabad, though details about the building remain undisclosed.

The Minister’s Enclave is set for expansion as well, with Rs. 132.7 million proposed for the construction of 12 new apartments for federal ministers and senior officials. These proposed expenditures come as the government faces mounting pressure to exercise fiscal discipline and focus on economic recovery.
