PCB Forms Another Commitee to Oversee Selection Committee and Domestic Structure

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the formation of a new committee tasked with overseeing the decisions of the national selection committee and driving reforms in the domestic cricket structure.

The committee’s mandate covers two key areas: monitoring the decisions made by the selection panel and recommending changes to strengthen the domestic cricket system. The PCB hopes that by involving respected former players and cricket administrators, the committee will be able to address long-standing challenges and set new benchmarks for the game at the grassroots and professional levels.

According to the latest updates, the committee will include former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and ex-Test cricketer Sikander Bakht among its members.

This development comes at a time when Pakistan cricket is undergoing significant changes, with recent overhauls in the selection committee and a renewed focus on domestic competitions. It is still unclear what the new selection committee will be as reports have indicated that the tenure of Aleem Dar, Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq as part of the panel is set to come to an end.

PCB is also contemplating to appoint a new red-ball head coach for the national team as the interim head coach, Aqib Javed is now Director High Performance. As for the white-ball head coach, Mike Hesson has already started his work to develop the team for the 2026 T20 World Cup and 2027 ODI World Cup.
