The Punjab School Education Department has authorized the establishment of summer camps in both public and private schools across the province, set to run from June 16 to July 15, 2025.
According to the official notification, the camps are intended for curricular activities and will be open to students of all classes. However, attendance will not be mandatory, and schools will require written consent from parents before students can participate.
The summer camps will operate only during the early hours of the day, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, covering morning, evening, and afternoon schools. No additional or extra fees will be charged by private institutions for these camps.
Similarly, government schools and teachers are barred from collecting any tuition fees from participating students. All activities are to be held indoors, within classrooms.
Schools have been directed to ensure the availability of basic facilities, including clean and cool drinking water, cleanliness, proper seating arrangements, fans, and electricity backup in case of load shedding. A well-stocked first aid box is also mandatory.
Students attending these camps will not be required to wear uniforms. However, schools must ensure that students wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing along with hats or caps to protect them from the heat.
