Punjab Likely to Raise Salaries by 10% and Pensions by 7%

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a 10% increase in salaries and a 7% increase in pensions for provincial government employees. This decision mirrors the federal government’s move to provide relief to public sector workers amid rising inflation and economic pressures.

The proposed raises will be included in Punjab’s upcoming provincial budget. The Punjab Finance Department is set to present the proposal to the provincial cabinet for formal approval.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has already scheduled a cabinet meeting for 11:00 AM on June 13, where the budget, including the salary and pension increases, is expected to be approved.

If passed, the new measures will benefit thousands of government employees and pensioners across Punjab, providing much-needed financial support for the coming year. The move has been welcomed by public sector workers and is seen as a positive step towards addressing the cost-of-living challenges faced by many families in the province.
