The Chief Executive Officer of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Muhammad Naeem Jan, stated on Wednesday that the ongoing severe heatwave and elevated humidity levels have significantly increased electricity demand and exerted additional pressure on the power distribution infrastructure. This has resulted in a noticeable rise in technical faults and frequent tripping incidents on the 11kV feeders.
“As a result, there has been a surge in customer complaints,” he noted. In response, a press release highlighted that IESCO’s Operations, Grid System Operations (GSO), and Construction teams have been fully deployed to swiftly address these complaints.
Acknowledging the efforts of the field personnel, the IESCO chief commended their commitment, saying, “We deeply appreciate the dedication of our line staff, who continue to work tirelessly under extreme heat. They are undoubtedly the backbone of our organization.”
He also issued firm instructions to all Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) to closely monitor the performance of their complaint offices.
Consumers experiencing electricity issues are encouraged to report their concerns using the contact numbers provided for their respective complaint offices.
