Man Saves 5 Lives After Donating Son’s Organs

In Mardan, a father made the heart-wrenching yet selfless decision to keep his son alive in others after losing hope for his recovery following a tragic accident. By donating his beloved son’s organs, he gave five people a new lease on life.

Nurdad, a resident of Rustam Bazaar in Mardan, runs a small flour mill near his home to support his family. On May 31, his 14-year-old son, Jawad Khan—a ninth-grade student—was severely injured when a speeding vehicle struck him on his way to school.

After taking his son to several hospitals and exhausting all treatment options, Jawad was placed on a ventilator with no signs of recovery. At that heartbreaking moment, his father chose to turn his grief into generosity by donating Jawad’s organs to help others in need. Following all the required legal procedures, he donated both of Jawad’s eyes, his liver, and his kidneys—ultimately saving the lives of five strangers.

Jawad was laid to rest on June 7. His family members expressed peace and satisfaction with the decision to donate his organs.

Jawad’s grandfather, while mourning his loss, called for the construction of a bypass road in Rustam to prevent similar accidents in the future.

Neighbors and community members have also expressed pride in the family’s brave and compassionate act.
