These Areas to Experience Dust Storm and Rainfall Starting Tomorrow

The Met Office predicted that moist currents are penetrating in upper parts of the country, and a westerly wave is also likely to approach the upper parts on 13th June. Under the influence of these weather systems:

Duststorm/Rain-thundershower (with isolated hailstorm) are expected in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Murree, Galliyat, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan, and Abbottabad from 13th to 16th June with occasional gaps.

Duststorm/Rain-thundershower (with isolated hailstorm) are also expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat, Bannu, Karak, D.I. Khan, Waziristan, Zhob, Barkhan and Musakhel on 13th and 16th June with occasional gaps.

Duststorm/thunder-rain is also expected in all the districts of southern Punjab and upper Sindh during the period.

Possible Impacts and advice:

• Windstorm/dust-thunderstorm/hailstorm/lightning may damage loose structures like electric poles, trees, vehicles, and solar panels, etc, in the upper/central parts, including Islamabad.
• Prevailing severe heatwave conditions are likely to subside during the forecast period.
• Farmers are advised to manage their crop activities keeping in view the weather conditions.
• General Public, Travelers & Tourists are advised to take precautionary measures during the weather activity
