ASF Stops Crystal Meth Smuggling to Middle East

The Airports Security Force (ASF) successfully foiled a drug smuggling attempt at Islamabad International Airport, intercepting a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine destined for the Middle East. The incident occurred on June 13, when ASF personnel, during routine baggage screening, detected suspicious material in a passenger’s luggage.

The suspect, identified as Shoaib Ali, was scheduled to board a flight to Bahrain. Upon inspection, ASF officials discovered 888 grams of crystal meth, ingeniously concealed within his trolley bag. The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth over Rs12.5 million in the illegal market.

ASF officials acted swiftly, preventing the drugs from leaving the country and immediately detaining the suspect. Shoaib Ali, along with the recovered contraband, was handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further investigation and legal proceedings.
