Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced on Friday that it has modified several international flight routes, including those to Toronto, Paris, and multiple Gulf countries, in response to airspace restrictions over Iran, which have arisen due to the ongoing conflict involving Israel.
A spokesperson for PIA confirmed that flights heading to Gulf destinations are now operating through Omani airspace, avoiding Iranian territory. Routes to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates have been redirected via the Muscat Flight Information Region to ensure passenger safety and operational continuity.
Similarly, the airline’s long-haul flights to Toronto and Paris have also been rerouted to pass through Oman-controlled airspace under the updated travel plans.
The adjustments come as part of PIA’s efforts to maintain uninterrupted international services while navigating evolving regional airspace constraints.
