The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has declared a local holiday for Thursday, 19th June 2025, on the occasion of the Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (R.A.).
The announcement, made in accordance with Council Resolution No. 594 dated 27th January 2005, was officially communicated by KMC’s Human Resources Management Department.
As per the notification issued by the Senior Director of Human Resources Management, all KMC offices under its jurisdiction will remain closed on the designated day, except for offices providing essential services.
The holiday, which coincides with the 22nd Zill-Hajj, 1446 A.H., celebrates the Urs of one of Karachi’s most revered saints, Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (R.A.). The annual occasion marks a significant event for many residents of Karachi, with various religious and cultural activities planned throughout the day.
KMC has emphasized that essential services will continue as usual, ensuring minimal disruption to the city’s day-to-day operations.
