London’s Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has entered into a collaboration with Novacare, offering expert guidance on hospital design, workforce planning, and staff training. The affiliate fees generated from this partnership will be reinvested to enhance NHS services in the UK.
Scheduled to open in 2026, the Novacare hospital in Islamabad aims to deliver a wide range of medical services across 28 specialties, including cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics, neurology, and maternal care. The facility will incorporate state-of-the-art technologies, such as smart building systems, AI-powered elevators, and solutions to manage infections and prevent patient falls.
British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott CMG OBE, praised the agreement, stating:
“This collaboration brings the UK’s renowned healthcare expertise to Pakistan while also supporting the NHS back home. By sharing NHS clinical excellence and developing healthcare professionals, this initiative will have a direct impact on saving lives.”
The initiative further enhances the UK’s role in global healthcare by promoting NHS standards and expertise abroad. The partnership offers Novacare’s medical professionals access to multidisciplinary team sessions, remote second opinions from UK doctors, and training based on NHS practices. In certain complex cases, patients may be referred to Imperial’s private hospitals in London, contributing to NHS revenue generation.
High Commissioner Marriott toured the hospital construction site in Islamabad’s DHA Phase V alongside UK Trade Envoy to Pakistan, Mohammad Yasin MP, who is currently on a three-day official visit. During the visit, she met with key Novacare and Andalus Holdings leadership, including:
Upon completion, the hospital will be located just 15 minutes from Islamabad’s Blue Zone, offering convenient access for patients.
