In a move aimed at improving transparency and efficiency, the Islamabad/Rawalpindi chapter of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has begun integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its investigative processes.
The bureau has described this as a major advancement in its fight against complex financial crimes. With the implementation of AI tools, NAB investigators can now analyze banking data, follow financial trails, and uncover illicit money transfers with greater speed and precision.
“These technologies are enabling our teams to uncover hidden links and suspicious transactions that were previously difficult to trace,” a NAB official stated.
As part of this initiative, a NAB delegation recently visited the National Centre of Artificial Intelligence (NCAI) to explore collaboration. The visit included detailed discussions on adopting global best practices, developing AI-powered investigative frameworks, and ensuring long-term technical support.
Dr. Ayaz, head of the NCAI, commended NAB’s efforts to embrace innovation in its accountability processes and pledged full technical support. The NCAI has committed to assisting NAB in becoming one of Pakistan’s most technologically advanced anti-corruption bodies.
A NAB spokesperson highlighted that the bureau is determined to recover public funds and intensify action against corruption using modern digital tools. The integration of AI, he noted, is already delivering faster, more transparent, and results-driven investigations.
