Lahore Schools Caught with 45,000 Fake Enrolled Students

The District Education Authority (DEA) Lahore has uncovered and removed approximately 45,000 fake student enrolments from schools across the city, following a comprehensive audit.

The fraudulent entries had been artificially inflating official student numbers, exposing large-scale manipulation of enrolment statistics in the city’s public education system.

After the removal of these fake entries, the number of verified student enrolments in Lahore’s public schools has dropped to 575,000. This significant shortfall has heightened scrutiny of the Education Authority’s performance and raised concerns about its ability to meet government-mandated enrolment targets.

The DEA had set a target of 637,000 student enrolments by October 31, 2025. The discovery of widespread data manipulation has left the authority with a substantial gap to fill. Notices have been issued to the schools involved, demanding explanations for the discrepancies and warning of possible disciplinary action.

Despite the setback, the DEA reports steady progress in legitimate enrolments, with the current verified figure rising to 616,000 after efforts by school administrators. However, 21,000 more students must be enrolled to meet the October 31 deadline. Officials remain optimistic about achieving the target, citing ongoing campaigns and increased oversight.
