Huge Fee Imposed on Cash Withdrawal From ATMs of Other Banks

Banks have started increasing the per-transaction fee for cash withdrawals at automated teller machines (ATMs) from banks other than the account’s host bank, raising it from Rs. 23.44 to Rs. 35.00.

ProPakistani has determined that banks have even started charging their customers at the new rates of Rs. 35 per transaction at non-host ATMs.

Almost all commercial banks have updated their schedule of charges and have jacked up the charges on cash withdrawals through their ATMs from customers of different banks.

According to 1LINK, it passes on the maximum charge to acquirer banks (Rs. 28)  and keeps the minimum charge (Rs. 7).

  • ASTAGHFRULLA. DAKOO RAJ INCREASED. RS. 35 per transaction is very big fraud with the people of Pakistan.
    Disagreed …

  • Not every bank has increased the fees . I highly doubt that ProPakistani team has gone through all banks updated schedule of charges . Standard Chartered is still charging the same amount as per 2025 ( July to dec) SOC

  • Very common in western countries to charge fee if you use ATM of a bank other than yours. It’s give us everything free mentality.

    • Pehly tu western waly standards achieve kr lo. Pata nai kahan sy aty hn aisy landy k liberals.

      • Pehle pese kamane ke standard apna lain phir jab pesa Hoga to benefit bhi de denge ..

    • Are we living in a western country? According to recent survey 22% of the people in this country are below the poverty line and 45.3% are struggling financially. Are the service and benefits delivered to the people of Pakistan on par with the western countries? where the heck do you come up with the nonsense analogy of comparing the people of Pakistan to the western counterparts? The day people of Pakistan are elevated to the living standard of the western world, that is the day you can make an argument for such charges or more.

      • Nearly every bank has improved and given online facilities and others are improving day by day… They are actually getting better and becoming trusted platforms…..
So they should be able to charge.. but this 35 rs inter bank charges are much…

      • Nhi odr civil hospitals ma enough beds, equipments or other facilities hoti hain. Nice one bro 😂

    • Don’t talk about western countries their cash withdrawal are very limited and and encourage e payments. So mostly people doesn’t require cash for their daily payments but here Pakistan putting charges on card payment and encourage cash withdrawal.. 35rs is totally nonsense also limit to withdrawal from 1link per tranction.

      • 1 link per transaction limit? matlab 1 link to 1 link transfer bhi nahi ho sakte paise ab?

      • Here too on card 5% and cash 18% tax.. on many places like restaurant and clothes etc…
Online are more encouraged than cash.
In India also sabzi Walas accept payment online. Like Easypaisa /jazz cash…
Online transactions are transparent Easier for tax collection…

    • which western countries are we talking about ? because as far as I know and experienced in the UK and some of Europe. they charge a monthly fee and everything is covered in that. (the atm charges, travel insurance, some banks even offers mobile/laptop insurance, even your transactions are insured, so if someone used your card/account online/offline they reimburse you at the very second you inform them etc etc) and that is covered in that monthly fee. they dont charge separate monthly or annual fee for that. yahan Pakistan main tou if you ask for a receipt from the atm, they charge you that as well… so could you please tell me which western countries charge if you use atm of a bank other than yours.

    • Are your nuts? In WESTERN countries there is fee for service and tax for tax-paying services! Unlike Pakistan stop blabbering about free & fees in Western countries if you cant talk about conveniences provided!

    • Does being common in west sets tbe standard? Stop being a psychological slave of the west. I fear you also may like trump, dick, tom , harry etc as your father rather than any pakistani

    • Chawal insaan … Apne comment pr dislikes aur apne comment k agaianttlikes dekh kr andaza lga le k tu kitna bara kanjay he west ka …. Kitnay mein zameer becha salay

  • ATMs basically facilitate the banks as their work load decreases and hence reduction of staff and monthly savings on account staff salaries. Why not state her if Pakistan enforce the banks to increase the number of ATMs of each bank sufficient for their account holders or otherwise penalise the banks instead of customers?

    • We should make system so durable that even the cobbler and mazdoor level people can use and accept online transactions so that dealings in cash is less and less.. like Easypaisa and jazzcash are doing..
This way tax evasion is less and less..

  • chlo bank too services dy raha hy ar charges ly raha hy . jo govt withdrawl lr huge tax ly rahi hy us k khilaf koe nehi bola

  • Shabash!!!! Saans leney pe bhi tax laga do ya Allah pak Pakistani awaam ko ko in nalayaq na ehel aur Pakistan per zabardasti muslat huye govt se azaad FARMA AMEEN SUM AMEEN

    • Bhai yeh bank ne lagay hai inter bank ATM charges .. not from govt.. 18 – 35 rs.
      This is not tax.

  • Madness at its height. Everything in Pakistan has to be in accordance with the Per Capita Income of Pakistanis, which is very, very low. We cannot quote the example of Western countries in matters where money or finances are involved. These increased fees are meant to facilitate the banks to help bank officials to purchase shiny new vehicles with interest-free bank loans.

  • سوئی ہوئی پاکستانی عوام

  • It’s truly a shameful decision. People are already burdened with heavy taxes imposed by the government, while receiving zero facilities in basic sectors like education, healthcare, and transportation. These are fundamental human needs. Utility bills keep rising, yet the government shows no wisdom or vision. They are only focused on imposing more taxes to control the public and keep them engaged in a life of poverty, while they continue to enjoy a luxurious lifestyle.
