The federal government has announced another increase in the prices of petroleum products.
According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the price of petrol has been jacked up by Rs. 8.36 per liter to Rs. 266.79 while the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs 10.39 to Rs. 272.98 per liter.
At the last fortnightly review of petroleum prices, the government increased the price of petrol and high-speed diesel by Rs. 4.80 per liter and Rs. 7.95 per liter, respectively.
It is pertinent to mention here that a 12-day conflict that began on June 13 when Israel struck Iran’s nuclear sites drove oil prices above $80 per barrel before they retreated below the $70 per barrel market after a ceasefire was announced.
