Sindh Law Dept Buys Rs. 90.5 Million Worth of Cars for Officers

The Sindh Law and Parliamentary Affairs Department has purchased 25 new vehicles worth Rs. 90.5 million for prosecution officers working in the field. The vehicles, all 2025 models, include 17 Suzuki Cultus VXLL units and 8 Suzuki Alto VX units.

Although the new cars are meant to help the officers with transport, they have also raised concerns about expenditure priorities. No details have been publicly shared regarding the buying process or vendors, and no oversight has been announced to track the vehicles’ long-term use or effectiveness.

Each Alto VX was acquired for Rs. 2,827,000, totaling approximately Rs. 21.6 million. The Cultus VXLL vehicles, equipped with alarm kits, were priced at Rs. 4,316,000 each, with the total for 17 units exceeding Rs. 73 million. The vehicles were delivered to the Sindh Assembly building before being distributed to officers across various districts.

Officials stated that the purchase was intended to address transport challenges faced by the officers, particularly in remote areas where reliable transport options are limited. The department said improved access to courts, police stations, and crime scenes is critical for timely legal proceedings and coordination with law enforcement.
