Supreme Court Launches E-Filing System

In a major step towards modernizing Pakistan’s judicial system, the Supreme Court has introduced a comprehensive E-Filing System across all of its registries — including the Principal Seat in Islamabad and branch offices in Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, and Quetta.

As per an official statement, this digital system allows electronic submission of legal documents such as petitions, memos, court orders, and judgments. These documents will now be available online through the Supreme Court’s Case Management System (CMS), and automated email alerts will notify concerned parties, helping to cut down on physical paperwork, delays, and legal expenses.

The court has made it compulsory for all Advocates-on-Record (AORs) and Supreme Court Advocates (ASCs) to register with the CMS. To assist in this process, the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) and the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) have been asked to provide up-to-date mobile numbers and email addresses for all registered lawyers.

Additionally, government agencies have been directed to appoint focal persons with official contact details to oversee e-filing coordination. These entities include the Attorney General’s Office, the Cabinet Division, Provincial Advocates General, Prosecutors General, and Chief Secretaries.

For any technical issues, Malik Sohail Ahmad, Senior Deputy Director (Software), has been designated as the contact point. Assistance is also available via the e-filing helpline at 0307-5555645 or 051-9219255, and queries can be emailed to ecourt@scp.gov.pk.

This reform initiative, spearheaded by the Honourable Chief Justice, is part of a broader vision to make the justice system more efficient, transparent, and accessible to the public.
