OGDC Boosts Oil Production Fourfold At Exploratory Well in Punjab

The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has significantly ramped up production at its Rajian-05 well in Chakwal District after successfully installing an Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP).

Following a planned workover and ESP deployment, daily oil production at the well surged from 820 barrels per day (BPD) to 3,100 BPD, while gas output doubled from 0.5 million to 1.0 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).

Rajian Field, discovered in August 1994 and wholly owned and operated by OGDCL under the Gujar Khan Exploration License, has long been a part of the company’s core assets.

Two other wells in the field had already been completed with ESPs, and the latest results from Rajian-05 mark another success in OGDCL’s strategy of enhancing output through targeted redevelopment of mature fields.

The development highlights OGDCL’s commitment to optimizing domestic energy resources and contributing to national energy security.
