Interior Minister Gives Major Update on UAE Visas for Pakistanis

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that efforts are underway to resolve visa issues faced by Pakistanis seeking to travel to the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Oman. The minister confirmed that discussions with Gulf officials are ongoing and that progress is expected soon.

The statement comes amid increasing reports of Pakistani visa applications being rejected, particularly for the UAE. Naqvi said that talks with the UAE’s interior minister are scheduled and that the government is committed to addressing the matter.

He also highlighted plans to improve the global ranking of the Pakistani passport. According to him, various steps are being taken to enhance its international image and increase global mobility for Pakistani citizens.

On national security, Naqvi stressed that Karachi’s stability is key to Pakistan’s overall progress. He pointed to the planned implementation of the Safe City project in Karachi, aiming to reduce crime rates through advanced surveillance.

Efforts are also underway to link criminal records with national identity cards via NADRA. Meanwhile, steps are being taken to improve coastal security, with Pakistan increasing the number of coast guard boats patrolling its 1,002-kilometer coastline.

Naqvi also admitted that previous governments had not done enough for water planning in major cities but expressed optimism about future progress.
