A major incident was narrowly averted at Quetta Airport on Tuesday when a private airline’s passenger flight bound for Islamabad lost control while taxiing to the runway, according to eyewitness accounts and media reports.
The flight, which had already been delayed for two hours on the runway, became the center of panic after the pilot reportedly lost control of the aircraft during taxiing.
Supreme Court Bar President Mian Rauf Atta, who was among the passengers, told reporters that the plane lurched unexpectedly, causing alarm and chaos inside the cabin. Fortunately, the aircraft had not yet taken off when the incident occurred.
The sudden movement led to panic among passengers, with some screaming in fear. Two passengers fainted due to the shock, and a woman required immediate medical attention from the crew.
Mian Rauf Atta criticized the airline for what he described as negligence, stating that the lives of all on board were put at risk.
Following the incident, the flight was unable to depart for Islamabad, and passengers were left stranded.
The airline has not yet issued an official statement regarding the cause of the incident or the steps being taken to address passenger safety concerns.
