Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7, marking its most substantial upgrade to the Fold series in years. With a thinner body, larger screens, and a 200MP main camera, the Z Fold 7 is finally more than an iterative yearly upgrade.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is now lighter at 215g, 24g less than its predecessor, thanks to its new Armor FlexHinge and Armor Aluminum frame. It measures just 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded, making it one of the thinnest foldables as of yet.
The main display has increased to 8.0 inches, while the cover screen has grown to 6.5 inches with a wider 21:9 aspect ratio for improved usability. Both screens are Dynamic AMOLED 2x panels with 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rates and brightness up to 2,600 nits. The main display uses a new generation of Ultra-Thin Glass, which is 50% thicker than the previous version. Samsung has also replaced the under-display camera with a 10MP punch-hole selfie camera and removed S Pen support.
The phone maintains an IP48 rating and features Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back, with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection on the cover screen.
The Fold 7 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite for Galaxy” chip and is available in 12GB or 16GB RAM variants with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage options. It supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for enhanced connectivity.
On the software side, it launches with One UI 8 based on Android 16 and includes the full Galaxy AI suite. Samsung has committed to providing 7 years of Android OS updates and security patches. Buyers will also receive six months of Google AI Pro with 2TB cloud storage.
The standout camera upgrade is the 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main sensor, previously seen on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It features a 1/1.3″ sensor, f/1.7 aperture, and optical image stabilization. This means that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 should be able to capture flagship-tier photos like the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The main lens is supported by a 10MP 3x telephoto lens and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor.
Despite the upgrades, the battery remains at 4,400 mAh and retains the same charging speeds: 25W wired, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 starts at $2,000 for the 12GB/256GB model, $2,120 for the 12GB/512GB model, and $2,420 for the 16GB/1TB variant. Color options include Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jet Black, and an online-exclusive Mint.
It is unclear when the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will arrive in Pakistan.
