OnePlus has officially unveiled the fifth generation of its popular Nord series, introducing the Nord 5 and Nord CE5. These midrange smartphones continue the brand’s trend of delivering premium features at competitive prices.
The Nord 5 offers a more powerful chipset, advanced cameras, and a smoother display, while the CE5 grabs attention with its massive 7,100 mAh battery, marking the largest battery on a OnePlus phone to date.
Design and Display
The OnePlus Nord 5 sports a 6.83-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,800 nits. The panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and includes an under-display fingerprint sensor. Meanwhile, the Nord CE5 features a slightly smaller 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,430 nits brightness.
OnePlus Nord 5 comes in Marble Sands, Dry Ice, and Phantom Grey colors, while OnePlus Nord CE5 comes in Black Infinity, Marble Mist, and Nexus Blue colors.
Internals and Software
The Nord 5 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The CE5 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 and offers similar memory configurations, with the added benefit of storage expansion. Both devices run OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15, and feature the new OnePlus AI Suite, including AI Eraser, AI Summary, and more.
Cameras
The Nord 5 boasts a 50MP (LYT-700) main sensor with OIS, supported by an 8MP ultrawide lens. The front camera is a 50MP Samsung JN5 unit. The CE5 carries a 50MP (LYT-600) main sensor and a similar 8MP ultrawide, with a 16MP selfie camera. Both phones feature OnePlus’ RAW HDR and Real Tone tech for improved dynamic range and skin tones.
Battery and Pricing
The Nord 5 includes a 6,800 mAh battery with 80W fast charging and reverse wired charging support. The CE5 leads in capacity with a 7,100 mAh battery, offering over 27 hours of YouTube playback. It also supports 80W SuperVOOC and bypass charging.
OnePlus Nord 5 pricing starts at $485 for 8/256GB and goes up to $540 for 12/512GB. Nord CE5 pricing begins at $323 for 8/128GB and tops out at $377 for 8/256GB.
