The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Wednesday announced a negative fuel cost adjustment (FCA) of Rs. 4.03 per unit for K-Electric (KE) consumers, which will be reflected in July’s electricity bills for power used in April.
In a notification, the power regulator said it had “decided to allow a negative FCA of Rs. 4.0349 per kWh for April 2025, to be passed on to consumers in the billing month of July 2025.”
This adjustment will apply to all consumer categories except lifeline consumers, domestic protected consumers, electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS), and all prepaid electricity consumers who have opted for a prepaid tariff, the authority said.
The adjustment will appear separately on consumer bills based on the number of units billed for the relevant month.
“If any bills for July 2025 have already been issued prior to this notification, the adjustment may be applied in the following month,” the notification added.
The regulator also directed KE to reflect this fuel charges adjustment for April consumption in the bills issued in July.
