Ben & Jerry’s Israel, operated by a local Israeli licensee following the 2022 demerger from Unilever, has launched a new Israel-exclusive “Milk and Honey” ice cream.
The flavor was launched in June 2026 and is available exclusively in occupied Palestine.
The flavor was created as part of an initiative to portray southern Israel settlers as victims of the October 7 2023 tensions. It is made using ingredients sourced from those communities and includes small fudge pieces shaped like the Star of David.
The launch quickly drew attention on social media, where many users linked it to the long-running controversy surrounding Ben & Jerry’s stance on Israel and Palestine. Many people accused the company of taking a political position, while settlers viewed the product as a gesture of solidarity with Israeli communities.
Although Unilever owns Ben & Jerry’s globally, the brand’s operations in Israel are independently managed by a local Israeli licensee.
The arrangement was established after Unilever sold its Israeli business in 2022 following a dispute over Ben & Jerry’s decision to halt sales in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
