Australia stamped their authority on the latest World Test Championship table with another impressive win over the West Indies, while England returned to winning ways at home to stay within touching distance of the leaders.
Australia’s latest reminder of their endless class came in the third and final Test against the West Indies in Jamaica. After already bagging the series in the second Test, Pat Cummins’ side did not give an inch to the hosts, securing a massive 176-run win in the final game while subjecting the opposition to record humiliation.
With a perfect 3-0 record and 100% points percentage, the beaten finalists from this year appear primed to make another run at the trophy.
England, meanwhile, returned to second on the young table after a characteristic battling win over India. Coming into the contest on the back of a demoralising loss to the visitors, Ben Stokes’ side pulled off a close 22-run win in the third game, defending 192 runs against India’s revered batting lineup.
