Election Commission is Hiring Assistant Election Commissioners

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced 27 new openings for the position of Assistant Election Commissioner (BS-17). These appointments are open to Pakistani nationals and will be made on merit and various regional quotas.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must hold at least one of the following qualifications:

• M.A./M.Sc. (2nd Division), or
• B.A (Hons)/B.Sc (Hons)/B.Com (Hons) (2nd Division), or
• LLB (5-year program – 2nd Division), or
• LLB (3 years – 2nd Division) with two years’ government service experience, or
• B.A/B.Sc (2nd Division) with two years’ experience in any government organization.

Age Limit:

• Maximum age: 30 years
• Upper age relaxation: 5 years, making it up to 35 years where applicable.

Quota-wise Distribution of Posts:

• Merit: 02
• Punjab: 10 (including 3 for women and 1 minority quota)
• Sindh (Urban): 03
• Sindh (Rural): 05 (including 1 minority quota)
• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 05
• Ex-FATA: 01
• AJK: 01

Posting Location:

Selected candidates can be posted anywhere in Pakistan.

Interested applicants can apply through the ECP’s Online Recruitment System by visiting www.ecp.gov.pk or jobs.ecp.gov.pk within 20 days of the advertisement’s publication.

In addition to online applications, candidates must also submit hard copies of their applications with:

• CV
• Attested copies of academic credentials
• CNIC
• Experience certificates (if applicable)
• Passport-size photograph
• Domicile certificate

These documents must be sent to P.O. Box No. 1418, GPO Islamabad, within 30 days of the advertisement’s publication.

Additional Instructions:

• Applicants working in government or autonomous bodies must apply through the proper channel.
• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for tests or interviews.
• No TA/DA will be provided.
