The Murree City Traffic Police have released a special advisory for tourists and locals following recent rainfall in the area.
Chief Traffic Officer Waseem Akhtar has instructed traffic personnel to stay vigilant and maintain smooth traffic movement during wet weather. He emphasized that officers should be proactive in keeping roads clear and ensuring vehicles move safely despite the rain.
Akhtar also advised the public to use umbrellas and raincoats and urged them to coordinate with emergency services if needed. He directed sector in-charges and DSPs to remain on duty in the field throughout the rainy period to help manage traffic.
Residents were cautioned to keep children away from storm drains, electric poles, and other hazardous spots during the rain.
Drivers were reminded to watch out for pedestrians, reduce their speed, and use windshield wipers and hazard lights in heavy downpours. Patience and careful driving were strongly encouraged.
The CTO assured that the traffic police are utilizing their resources to the fullest to safeguard citizens and maintain efficient traffic flow during the rainy season.
