Karachi to Get Another Round of Monsoon Showers

Karachi is expected to experience its third round of monsoon rains starting tomorrow (Friday), with forecasts predicting light to moderate showers across the city.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports that Karachi will see cloudy and humid conditions, with the chance of light rain or drizzle, especially during the night.

Daytime temperatures are likely to peak at 35°C, and humidity is currently at 69 percent. The Met Office also noted that southwesterly winds are blowing at around 11 kilometers per hour.

Elsewhere, the next twelve hours are expected to bring intermittent rain, wind, and thunderstorms to most areas of Kashmir, Islamabad, the Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Some locations may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall during this period.

Additionally, scattered showers and thunderstorms are anticipated in central and southern Punjab, as well as in parts of northeast and southern Balochistan.

Rawalpindi and Islamabad are currently experiencing torrential rainfall, which has caused urban flooding in several areas. In response to the urban flooding, DC Rawalpindi announced a public holiday, urging citizens to stay home and avoid traveling due to the weather conditions.

The weather has also affected flight operations at the Islamabad International Airport, causing delays and several flight cancellations.
