Another Batch of Made in Pakistan Cars Exported to Japan

Honda Atlas has shipped another batch of 38 locally assembled Honda City 1.2L units to Japan, marking its second export consignment to the country.

The first batch—comprising 40 units—was sent in April 2025 and was widely seen as a milestone for Pakistan’s auto manufacturing capabilities.

The move strengthens Honda’s presence in the global supply chain and underscores growing confidence in the quality of Pakistan-assembled vehicles.

Company officials said the exports reflect both improved production standards and strategic steps to expand international market access.

Other automakers in Pakistan have also begun tapping into export markets. In July 2023, Toyota Indus exported 50 vehicles—including the Fortuner, Corolla Cross, and IMV models—while Changan Pakistan shipped 14 Oshan X7 SUVs to Kenya and Tanzania.

More recently, Hyundai Nishat joined the trend by exporting its Santa Fe Hybrid CBUs to Sri Lanka, signaling increased momentum for Pakistani carmakers to compete beyond domestic borders.

  • Not ‘Made in Pakistan’s, you can say ‘Assembled in Pakistan’ cars. Since independence we have produced only bombs and missiles, not anything that can benefit the common man.

    • Aam aadmi, please realise that making sophisticated missiles and that too with pin point accuracy isn’t a joke. And so called welfare countries of the world that lack in such capabilities are finding themselves in deep waters and their integrity and sovereignty is compromised and are regretting that why they didn’t progress in theri defence.

So being sarcastic is an ailment please try to recover asap

    • even export of bombs and missiles can bring a huge amount of foreign exchange, that can benefit the economy.

    • Yes right. All parts imported from Japan, assembled in Pakistan and sent back to Japan. 🤣
I wonder why Japanese need to import their own brand of 38 cars from Pakistan.🤔

      • I suppose they are outsourcing the Honda city manufacturing… To Pakistan….
        OR
Don’t know if this is part of deal that Honda pk has to send samples after every period of time…

  • So fake, do you really think Pakistan is this capable ob producing cars? What a joke 🤣

    • Pakistan is Manufacturing Fighter Jets JF-17 Thunder,,, recently exhibited in UK

    • This is the first step every country should take if it wants to begin its own car industry

    • What is fake in this, brother ?

we should learn to appreciate the positive things.

      • Nothing positive about it . It’s just the same claim as before . We don’t make cars . We don’t even make bikes.

    • You are correct sir safwan. No matter how many dislike you . You’re correct . Even usa can’t manufacture at japan level .

    • Reason ? Exporting to Arab world or any other country is called “export” so let it be any country , its good to see that something positive happening

      • We didn’t export . Japan just did it to cut cost. Nothing else . Also the quality is low

  • The leading automobile industry is sitting here laughing at the cars being assembled in Pakistan. While none of us owns a car.
    I’m sorry for being me…

  • It’s not a joke, in fact Japan has also imported many japanese brand cars from India as well, may be to meet the local demand.

    • Local demand ? Japan ?

Japan is not even 20% of pakistan population. And they don’t use cars. They hate cars. They use trains and trams

      They have the shinkanshen trains

  • Dear, pehle to bina kisi proof k ap ne likh dia pak made cars, kahen nazar ni arahi, or ye kisi k bheje me baat kese jae gi k ek mulk jo dunya ka lagest car exporter hai Japan, or pak usko car bana k bhej raha hai, wah bhai, yaha mazak chal raha hai kia,…

    • made in pakistan ofcourse a bit misleading but he mentioned honda
then ofcourse everybody knows honda is a japanese car .Recently started assembling some cars in Pakistan
the assembly cost in Pakistan is cheaper and the parts are mostly from China
and that is for almost every car
made in Canada made in Usa Made in France made in Italy
all only branded in their countries
most of the things made in China
toyota has many plants in Canada and America the parts are being assembled to full cars and sold in that region
benefit goes to all involved parties to Japan and Canada and America
      and
when the cars are being sold out of america and canada
this adds to their export not japans

for toyota the overall unit sale will count

    • Except it’s fake. The cars were not made or parts made in Pakistan

Is like cooking your own meal at your neighbors house using your own ingredients

  • Obviously at such prices who can buy in Pakistan. Better send it to where they came from. This is called “Backloading “

    • Debunked .
Except it’s fake. The cars were not made or parts made in Pakistan

Is like cooking your own meal at your neighbors house using your own ingredients

  • Most of people who commented on this don’t have knowledge how things going on. Saying that assembling cars is meaningless completely overlooks how industrial progress works. Even China, South Korea, and Japan started by assembling foreign vehicles before developing their own brands. Assembling is a critical learning stage — it builds technical skills, supply chains, and industry experience. You can’t produce a car from scratch without first understanding how one is built. This is not something to mock; it’s a sign of growth. If we could make missiles, we can definitely move toward making full cars too — one step at a time.

    • Completely wrong Mr Abdullah
Neither china nor Korea nor Japan did any of that

Korea had head start in its own tech
Japan created their own cars way from traditional car engineering

China invested in ev tech long before anyone did.

You were misinformed. It’s not a learning stage since we’ve been doing it for 60 years now . Learning for 60 years and still nothing

Except it’s fake. The cars were not made or parts made in Pakistan

Is like cooking your own meal at your neighbors house using your own ingredients

  • I have seen quality of pakistan assembled cars, and please explain the difference between assembling and manufacturing.

    • They can’t

Except it’s fake. The cars were not made or parts made in Pakistan

Is like cooking your own meal at your neighbors house using your own ingredients
