NADRA to Launch Three New Mega Centres in Karachi

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has revealed plans to open three new mega centres in Karachi.

According to NADRA’s official announcement, these new facilities will be located in Malir Cantt, Malir, and Surjani Town. Spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali explained that this initiative is designed to improve convenience for Karachi’s population.

Ali also clarified that the fees for the Pak ID online service remain unchanged and are identical to those at NADRA’s physical offices. He highlighted that many overseas Pakistanis are already benefiting from the Pak ID platform.

Addressing recent developments, the spokesperson mentioned that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is currently conducting an inquiry involving the former NADRA chairman and several other officials. Information about those dismissed or under investigation will be shared with the media in due course.

Ali further noted that recent changes to identity-related laws have been made solely to benefit the public. He emphasized that birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates are still issued by the relevant Union Councils.

Previously, NADRA had expanded its services to union councils in areas such as Saidpur, Sihala, and Model Town. However, the introduction of these new mega centres represents a significant step forward in improving efficiency and accessibility.

The Citizen Facilitation Centre in Islamabad, for example, is now able to assist thousands of people each week, offering quicker processing and a smoother experience.
