The e-challan system has officially become operational in Bahawalpur as part of the Punjab government’s Safe City Project, aiming to enhance traffic regulation and overall law and order.
According to an official press release, the initiative has been implemented in line with similar projects across other cities in the province. Modern surveillance infrastructure has been put in place to support the system.
AI-powered CCTV cameras have been installed at the city’s entry and exit points, key intersections, major roads, and near government buildings. These cameras are actively monitoring traffic to ensure compliance with road safety rules.
The system has already begun issuing e-challans to motorists found violating traffic laws, marking a significant step towards automated traffic enforcement in Bahawalpur.
