The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has achieved its monthly tax collection target of Rs 748 billion for July 2025, marking a strong start to the fiscal year 2025–26.
The robust performance comes in the wake of over Rs. 400 billion in new tax measures introduced in the federal budget for FY25-26, aimed at improving fiscal consolidation and expanding the tax base.
The government has set an ambitious annual revenue target of Rs. 14.131 trillion for the fiscal year 2025–26.
FBR officials attributed the strong collection to improved enforcement, digital monitoring tools, broadening of the tax base, and tighter compliance measures introduced as part of structural reforms.
