Medical Equipment Worth Over Rs. 10 Million Goes Missing from Famous Govt Hospital

Valuable assets valued at over Rs. 10 million have reportedly vanished from Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital. The missing items, which include operation theater tables, beds, air conditioners, wheelchairs, and various pieces of furniture, are estimated to be worth more than Rs. 12.1 million.

In response, the Specialized Healthcare Department has served a show cause notice to Dr. Shabbir Hussain, holding him accountable for the loss. Findings from a three-member inquiry committee have pointed to evidence of corruption involving Dr. Shabbir.

The notice alleges that the disappearance of the medical equipment was intentional. It also warns that if Dr. Shabbir fails to provide a satisfactory explanation within the given timeframe, the Health Department will proceed with disciplinary action.
