Working in Kuwait Just Became Easier for Pakistanis

The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) will resume sending skilled workers to Kuwait, state-run media reported Monday. The decision comes after Kuwait lifted a 19-year visa ban on Pakistani nationals earlier this year.

Kuwait officially ended the restriction in May, reopening work, family, business, and tourist visa applications for Pakistanis. The ban, initially imposed over security concerns, had also applied to citizens of Iran, Syria, and Afghanistan.

Overseas Employment Corporation to Manage Hiring

The Overseas Employment Corporation, an agency under the OP&HRD Ministry, will handle the recruitment and deployment of Pakistani labor to Kuwait. Job openings include warehouse supervisors, warehouse coordinators, warehousemen, carpenters, unskilled workers, assistant furniture workers, and drivers.

Applicants for warehouse supervisor roles must be under 35, hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree, speak English fluently, and have experience in retail warehouses or logistics operations.

Application Deadline

The deadline for document submission for the available positions is August 15, 2025. Remittances from Pakistanis working abroad remain a key contributor to the country’s foreign exchange reserves, which are crucial amid ongoing economic challenges.

Pakistan and Kuwait have maintained diplomatic relations since October 1963, cooperating in labor, trade, and other sectors. The resumption of worker deployment is expected to strengthen labor market collaboration between the two countries.
