The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has initiated steps to outsource the management of 1,500 schools and 55 colleges that have been underperforming. Among these, 500 schools are located in the province’s merged districts.
According to the Chief Secretary, the main goal behind this move is to raise educational standards in these institutions. He emphasized that only those schools and colleges meeting specific criteria will be considered for outsourcing.
This decision comes in the wake of disappointing matriculation exam results across the province. Many government schools reported alarmingly low pass rates, with thousands of students failing and some schools recording a zero percent success rate.
The government hopes that by bringing in external management, the quality of education in these institutions will improve.
