The All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association has criticized the Punjab government’s decision to extend summer vacations until September 1, calling it unnecessary and harmful to students’ education.
The reaction came after Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced on social media that all public and private schools in the province will reopen on September 1. The minister said the decision was made in view of the ongoing heatwave, to protect students from potential health risks.
However, the private school association has urged the government to reconsider. In a statement, the organization pointed out that schools in Islamabad reopened on August 4, while educational institutions in other provinces have also resumed.
They argued that only Punjab is continuing an extended break, which could negatively affect students’ learning. The association warned that keeping students away from classrooms for nearly three months would slow academic progress and harm board exam preparation.
It called the move disruptive and against the academic calendar.
The group added that reopening schools with strict health and safety guidelines is possible. It also suggested a phased reopening or allowing only board classes to resume in the first stage to prevent further academic loss.

If this really is the case then gov should also consider the amount of time students will waste at home because studying at home is not possible these days, provide facilities and flexibility and AC’s in the classrooms if gov really care about them instead, so students atleast enjoy going to schools in summer aswell.
