The Punjab government has issued a strict warning to all public and private schools to comply with the province-wide summer vacation extension until September 1.
Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said the holiday schedule applies to every institution, with zero tolerance for violations.
Parents and community members have been asked to report any school found open before the set date on the provincial education helpline at +92 316 0261408.
The minister said the extension was introduced to protect students from the ongoing heatwave, adding that the decision is final.
The All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association has already voiced strong opposition to the extension, calling it unnecessary and harmful to students’ learning.
They noted that schools in Islamabad and other provinces have reopened, and argued that keeping Punjab’s students away from classrooms for nearly three months would hurt academic progress and board exam preparation.
The association suggested a phased reopening or allowing board classes to resume earlier under strict health guidelines to minimize learning loss.

Still don’t understand why…. Children play outside in harsh conditions all the time .. and going to school and being indoors will be bad for their health!!!! That’s the worst excuse for an extension of vacation.
No, they dont. Parents can easily refuse kids from playing in the harsh rain or sun. Also, nowadays parents find it easy to just shove a tablet/phone/TV infront of their kids, I barely see any kids playing in my neighborhood nowadays (not saying im in favor of making device addicted children, just saying.)

Report the opening of school. These people cannot bear the happiness of the students that they are getting extended holidays. Every year, schools open on 15th of August. So this year, if the government finally considered extending the holidays, these people are having a stomachache as to why students got holidays….

I don’t anderstand the logic of Government children education is distributed whole year, after September the fog coming so school will be closed again, when the student complet theirs Course, who possible they prepared exame,and they were able to promote next classes and easily read the next Classes Course, Plz these Children’s are our Featured So think about.

It is respectfully submitted that Punjab College Jhang (Chiniot Road Campus) has opened its classes for Grades 9 to 12 from 4th August 2025, and it has been announced that the entire school will resume functioning from 15th August 2025.
This action is in clear violation of the Government’s directives/circular regarding the official schedule for school reopening. It is widely known that this institution belongs to influential individuals and is operating without regard to the rules and regulations set by the competent authority.
Such disregard for government orders not only undermines the authority of the Education Department but also poses health risks to students and staff, especially in view of the policies designed for their well-being.
I request your kind intervention to:
1. Immediately investigate the matter.
2. Take strict action against the concerned institution for non-compliance.
3. Ensure uniform application of government circulars to all educational institutions, irrespective of ownership or influence.

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Federal Science College, located in Wapda Town, Gujranwala, for reopening earlier than the date announced by the government. According to the official directive, all schools are to reopen from 31st August. However, Federal Science College has issued a notification stating that the school will reopen on 18th August, which is a clear violation of government orders.
This early reopening is causing confusion and concern among students and parents and may also pose serious health and safety risks. I respectfully request the concerned authorities to take strict action against the school administration for not following the official guidelines and to ensure compliance in the future.
