The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Punjab Traffic Police has ordered strict action against those violating speed limits across the province.
According to a spokesperson for the Traffic Police, operations against over-speeding drivers are being carried out without discrimination. This year alone, more than 95,000 motorists have been issued challan tickets for exceeding the prescribed speed limit.
The number of actions taken against over-speeding has surged by 97 percent compared to last year. Strict enforcement is being carried out against motorcycles, private vehicles, and commercial transport.
Speed guns are being used to determine vehicle speed, while Safe City cameras are actively monitoring roads to identify and penalize offenders.
DIG Traffic Muhammad Waqas Nazir stated that over-speeding not only endangers the life of the driver but also puts others at serious risk. He stressed that the use of speed detection cameras has played a key role in reducing accidents.
“Our top priority is to make travel easier and safer for the public,” Nazir said. “The Traffic Police is taking all necessary measures to protect precious human lives.”

Very good, challan on over speeding is good. Keep it continued!!
However also look into
1. wrong way drivers
2. Bikes with no head lights in the night.
3. Very high beam head lights in Cars and “NAMAQOOL” (jeep like bigger vehicles now very commonly seen on the road) and Trucks, Shahzors and Buses.
Humble request to avoid or stop “NAKA” style document checking of Bikes even with helmet or without helmet by traffic Police there main key job is to maintain smooth traffic flow and to tackle issues that may cause interruption in the flow.
Random checking should be banned. Its like harassment
And what about constitutional violations….
Appreciate , and continue. Overspending and dangerous driving (snaking through lanes and ongoing trafic) continue on Ring Road unchecked. Vehicles with various bright colours tail lights other than red are also a common sight on Ring Road.
It’s good but i hv seen people bribing police which they do happily accept and let them go free…
Bikers should not drive in the middle of the road where as on extremely left lane is vacant n biker has to go straight
Ye to bgair waja ky bhi challan thok dety hain apna kota pora krny k liye
This law is applicable on public only, law enforcement agencies police and all government vehicles are exempted, kaash k Pakistan main sab k liye aik qanoon hota.
LED lights in all vehicles must be banned 🚫
