Motorway Police Introduces New Rule for Passenger Vehicles

The National Highways and Motorway Police has made it mandatory for all passengers in public transport vehicles to wear seat belts.

According to the spokesperson, bus drivers and staff must ensure that seat belts are used at all times in buses, coaches, and other passenger vehicles.

Passengers not wearing seat belts will face fines, while buses without seat belts will not be allowed to enter the motorway.

The spokesperson urged passengers and operators to fulfill their legal and moral responsibility to ensure safe travel.


  • How incompetent they are we used to know everyday. This is not the new rule its already in the law.

  • late, but good decision. should also enure that loading vehicles including trucks along with mid size pickups like shehzor, mazda and Suzuki ravi, drivers and their accompanying passenger also wear seat belts.

  • I have been availing Devow buss service from lahore to R Y Khan for the last 5 years. All the Passenger seats of Devow buses enrute lahore to R Y Khan and vice versa do not have safety belts. Motorway police and NHA must ensure all busses are properly equipped on all routes with safety belts.

  • Must also put strict measures on rash and dangerous driving. Mini buses and buses drive very carelessly.

  • A good decision and for sure it would ensure life safety of passengers. On normal roads helmets must also be implemented on rear passenger and kids on bikes
