The National Highways and Motorway Police have announced a detailed traffic plan for the upcoming Independence Day and “Battle of Truth” celebrations on August 14.
According to the spokesperson, entry of all heavy vehicles into Rawalpindi will be suspended from noon on August 13 until 3 am on August 14. Vehicles traveling from GT Road Peshawar towards Rawalpindi will be halted at Sangjani, while traffic coming from GT Road Lahore will be stopped at T Chowk.
The plan also applies to motorway traffic. Heavy vehicles coming from Peshawar and Lahore via the motorway will not be allowed to enter Islamabad through link roads during this period.
Authorities have urged motorists to follow the diversions, plan travel accordingly, and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed along key routes to avoid congestion.
