A multinational team led by Mahroosh Umer, a young AS level STEM student from Pakistan, has won the AI 4 Good Incubator 2025, a techthon-style competition that drew participants from hundreds of countries.
The five-day global challenge tasked teams with answering a pressing question: “How might we use AI to accelerate the journey to net zero?”
Mahroosh’s team pitched AgriGuard.AI, an AI-powered platform designed to help smallholder farmers adopt climate-smart agricultural practices, improve soil health, and earn additional income through carbon credits. The platform uses satellite imagery and soil data to provide localized, actionable advice, making sustainability both profitable and accessible for farmers.
Mahroosh played a major role in the project by prototyping the solution in Glide, enabling farmers to visualize how the technology could work in real-world conditions. The interactive prototype showed how AI insights could be seamlessly integrated into day-to-day farming decisions.
The AI 4 Good Incubator 2025 attracted innovators from around the world, but it was AgriGuard.AI’s combination of technology, environmental impact, and economic benefit that secured the top prize.

You don’t need ai for this. Carbon credits only work if carbon credit policy exists. US scraped carbon credit policy just last month and pakistan doesn’t have 1. So its useless.
Soil doesn’t care about ai. It depends on variables such as soil health, water content, weed presence and industrial waste content in the land or lack of it and many more.
Can ai stop import of crop ? No
Can it stop flood that ruins crop ? No
I didn’t even use ai and I could see the issues.
When you don’t know anything then keeping your mouth is best option, otherwise your bragging will speak for your ignorance. We already working on projects funded on carbon credit worth millions of dollars.
Prove it. Or keep your mouth shut . Use your own logic. How can you work on a carbon credit project when in usa carbon credit policy was dissolved by Big beautiful Bill in September?
And pakistan doesn’t have carbon credit policy so your project won’t work in pakistan.
Also crop yields don’t rely on ai but on water availability, soil condition, less obstructions such as natural disaster , ideal weather conditions and pricing models. I didn’t even use ai to write that down.

Great achievement. Most of research and development work is done in educational universities. But Pakistani universities are still imparting centuries old.method of education by learning from old outdated books. How can universities start research work. Agricultural university of Faisalabad is the oldest agricultural university on Asia. Where it stands. It’s performance has left many questions
Tree plantation, enhancement of agricultural yield. Nothing come to credit of university. Distributing lab top computer and electronic bikes are nice but research and development operation is very important.
Chief Minister of Punjab must also focus on this area.

Do not overdramatise trivialities. There are no concrete details of what this event was, who are the organisers, her competitors and so on. If she did something good, it must be appreciated but do not overagggerate as propakistani does off and on.
