Rs 1.5 Billion Allocated for Preservation of Gurdwaras, Churches, and Temples

The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved funds totaling Rs. 96 billion for various development initiatives, including the preservation and renovation of religious sites.

The decision was made during the 19th meeting of the PDWP, chaired by Dr. Naeem Rauf, Chairman of the Planning and Development Board.

Out of the total funds, Rs. 1.5 billion has been allocated for the protection and restoration of gurdwaras, churches, and temples.

Additionally, Rs. 22.47 billion has been approved for improving sewage systems and floodwater drainage in areas such as Khanewal, Kamunki, Vehari, and Wazirabad.

A significant portion of the budget, Rs. 72 billion, has been earmarked for the establishment of model villages in multiple cities, including Lahore, D.G. Khan, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujranwala, and Sahiwal. These model villages aim to enhance urban infrastructure and living standards in the selected regions.

The meeting was also attended by Secretary of the PND Board, Rafaqat Ali, who, along with other officials, reviewed and approved the proposed projects to ensure their timely execution.
