The federal cabinet has decided to donate one month’s salary to support those affected by the recent floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This decision came during a high-level meeting led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where officials reviewed ongoing relief efforts for people impacted by heavy rains and flooding.
During the session, the Prime Minister emphasized that both federal and provincial governments must work together, setting aside political differences to focus on helping those in need. He described aiding the flood victims as a national duty, urging everyone to prioritize service over politics during this challenging time.
To ensure effective relief and rehabilitation, the Prime Minister announced that families who have lost loved ones or suffered damages will receive financial assistance through the Prime Minister’s Package. The Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs will oversee the distribution of aid and the restoration process, while other federal ministers have been tasked with supervising the repair of essential services such as electricity, water, and roads.
Additionally, all relevant ministers have been instructed to personally visit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan to monitor relief operations. The Prime Minister stressed that reopening roads to deliver aid should be treated as an urgent priority, ensuring that help reaches those who need it most.
