The Punjab government has taken a concrete step to provide respectable employment opportunities for the youth by deciding to establish direct contact with foreign embassies and missions. The move aims to create new overseas job avenues for skilled Pakistani workers.
The Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Department has been authorized to engage directly with international markets. Through these connections, the department will explore employment opportunities for young people in agriculture, industry, and construction sectors abroad.
Belarus has already offered Pakistan jobs across multiple fields, which will open doors for better overseas prospects for Pakistani youth. The initiative will be implemented after receiving formal approval from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior.
According to the Punjab government, in the face of rapidly changing global dynamics, swift and direct engagement with international partners has become essential. Ensuring dignified employment for the youth remains a top government priority.

Foreign Embassies hardly has any role in employment of our workforce. Punjab Government would need to establish a proper office headed by an experienced person. Punjab government need to send their Officer to foreign countries to meet employers persuade them & secure manpower demand or appoint an agent there who can identify employers & negotiate export of manpower from Pakistan..

Punjab government should establish offices abroad so that relatives of the leaders are posted there and they sleep and enjoy life without producing any result. Community Welfare Attaches are already posted in countries which have manpower needs. Embassies are therefore enough to explore employment opportunities abroad. Foreign countries have over 200 countries to recruit manpower from and Pakistan is just one of those countries. Think globally.

This is a top tier level step by the Punjab Gov but needs to be implemented in a much serious and integrated manner.Pakistani people are very skilled, just need a proper channel.Next up should be focus on vocational and professional qualification institutions accredited by int bodies like European Union for a much better workforce.

Send the skilled workers abroad and keep the unskilled workers within the country so that they can construct roads, bridges, and buildings that will develop cracks within months, not years. What a stupid idea to earn a few dollars. Instead create employment opportunities within the country so that they can earn and contribute to the country’s development.
