Punjab Orders CCTV Surveillance in All Private Hospitals

The Punjab government has decided to increase oversight of all private hospitals throughout the province. In a recent directive, the Punjab Healthcare Commission has instructed every private hospital to install CCTV cameras across its premises.

According to the official letter, cameras must be placed in all critical areas, including emergency rooms, intensive care units, children’s nurseries, entrances, exits, and waiting areas.

Hospitals have also been told to store CCTV footage for a minimum of 40 days. The commission clarified that this footage will only be released for legal purposes, and hospitals must ensure that patient privacy is protected during the installation and use of surveillance equipment.

  • I think that to much against the value of public. Entrance, exit gallery and lawn only good place for camera where privacy of public can’t damage.

  • Well done Punjab. This should be practiced across pakistan in every public sector areas like schools, hospitals, parks, offices, bus stands, masjids, madrasas, sport complex, markets, etc etc.
