The School Education Department has imposed a major restriction on government teachers, prohibiting them from teaching in private schools or academies. Officials have warned that strict action will be taken against any teacher found violating the order.
According to reports, many teachers employed in public schools were also working in private institutions, often during official school hours. Authorities believe that this divided attention has negatively impacted the quality of education for students in government schools.
The department stated that teachers’ activities will now be closely monitored. Any violations of the new directives will result in disciplinary measures.
In other news, the Punjab School Education Department also announced the SIS portal for marriage-based transfers. Under the updated policy, teachers are now able to apply for wedlock transfers, even if their spouse is not a government employee. The option, suspended for the last six weeks due to rationalization measures, has now been restored to provide teachers with greater flexibility throughout the year.
