Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) Exams Postponed Amid Floods

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced the postponement of written examinations scheduled for 30 and 31 August 2025.

The decision comes in response to the severe flood situation in Punjab, which has disrupted transportation, displaced families, and created obstacles for candidates traveling to examination centers.

The postponed tests include recruitment examinations for multiple posts, including those in the Punjab Police (Inspector Legal, Specialist Cadre) and other departments. According to PPSC officials, the delay will affect thousands of candidates across the province.

Decision-Making Process

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by PPSC Chairman Lieutenant General (Retd.) Muhammad Abdul Aziz, attended by senior officials including the Secretary, Member (Examinations), and In-Charge Examinations.

The Commission concluded that holding examinations during a province-wide flood emergency would be impractical and unfair to candidates unable to reach their centers safely.

Next Steps for Candidates

The Commission has confirmed that fresh examination dates will be announced shortly once the situation stabilizes.

Candidates will be informed of the revised schedule through official PPSC communication channels, including SMS, email, the Commission’s website, and verified social media accounts.

Broader Context

Punjab is experiencing extensive flooding, resulting in the closure of educational institutions in several districts and disrupting normal civic activities.

The floods have damaged infrastructure, displaced large numbers of people, and forced authorities to reschedule examinations and academic activities across the province.
