After the shocking murder of 17-year-old influencer Sana Yousuf in Islamabad, a new case of harassment has surfaced, this time involving her close friend, social media influencer Samia Hijab.
Samia revealed that she has been receiving persistent threats from a man identified as Hassan Zahid, a resident of Lahore. According to her, the suspect had been stalking her for several days and even went as far as showing up at her house. She alleged that at one point, he forcibly tried to take her into his car.
Unlike many victims who remain silent out of fear, Samia chose to speak out publicly. She uploaded CCTV footage from her home on Instagram, which appears to show the incident, along with a photograph of the alleged harasser.
In her statement, Samia said she refuses to stay quiet because she does not want her fate to mirror that of her late friend Sana Yousuf, who was murdered by a stalker earlier this year. Sana’s killer is currently in custody and facing trial.
Samia has registered a case with the Islamabad police and has demanded immediate protection and the arrest of the accused. She stressed that stronger action is necessary to prevent such incidents from continuing in Pakistan.
