Punjab Announces Holiday on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH)

The Punjab government has declared Saturday, September 6, 2025, a public holiday in observance of 12th Rabiul Awwal.

According to the notification, all government and private offices, the Civil Secretariat, administrative departments, and outpatient departments (OPDs) across the province will remain closed on the day.

The holiday marks Eid Milad-un-Nabi, celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

With September 7, Sunday, already a weekly holiday, the announcement means citizens will benefit from a two-day break over the weekend.

Every year, Muslims across Pakistan and around the world mark 12th Rabiul Awwal with religious gatherings, processions, and recitations. The day falls in the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar and is considered one of the most significant dates in the Muslim world.
